A Room for the Boys

With our newest addition arriving in a matter of weeks now I'm trying to put together some ideas for the boys new shared bedroom (that sounds so strange!)
Usually I would have been on the case from seeing that little blue line but several issues including a leaky roof have meant holding off on the decorating.
But with the wheels being in motion for the roof replacing and Joe due to have some time off it seems like we need to get started, finally!
The last few weeks have been difficult pregnancy-wise as unfortunately I've developed sciatica and SPD this time around which makes doing anything a bit tricky including walking;
The physiotherapist has been really good though and as well as lots of bump bandages and a belt I've now got some snazzy crutches to help me about!
Joe is planning to get started on the painting next week hopefully and as I can't do much in the way of decorating and furniture building I'm getting on with the smaller tasks of up-cyling some little bits of furniture and picking out some lovely things for their shared space.
I'd like it to be spacious and airy but with lots of bright colours;
The little guy loves lego so we're planning on making him a table where he can keep it out with storage underneath.
The general theme I'm sticking to is organised and colourful!
So with that in mind here are some ideas and favourite shops...
I love this shelving idea and will definitely be recreating;
I know it's a popular shelf hack but its such a good idea! It's perfect for creating a reading nook or displaying little toys-probably Lego in our case...
I've already seen some at Homebase which look perfect for this use.
I love these little felt ball garlands to add more colour to the walls which will probably be white; There are so many great shops online which make these unless I decide to give them a go myself!

Dotcomgiftshop have a gorgeous childrens range including these colourful cushions.
I'm planning to make a long seat on top of some drawers and put lots of cushions on to make it nice and comfy.
These would look so cute!
Farg Form design some super stylish products - This cloud design is so cute on everything but I love this changing mat!
This one is available through This Modern Life which has an amazing range of products for children's rooms and is great for inspiration too.
Again this is from the Dotcomgiftshop - perfect for hanging up little coats and bags and looks lovely and colourful!
I love this poster by Little Baby Company.
This is a special quote in our home and I'd love for the boys to have this reminder on their wall
Again these little nesting dolls are from the Little Baby Company;
They look so cute and little guy keeps asking for some of these.
I think he'd love them in these bright colours.
We have so many wooden colourful toys but he really does love them!

This Clouds rug by The Great Little Trading Company looks perfect for playing on and lovely and soft;
I literally love all of their children's things!

If you know any great shops for kids drop me a comment!
I can't wit to get started

Surprise treats from Wishwant

Although I first tried Wishwant back at the end of last summer I thought I'd share a little about this new company.
Wishwant is a great way of gift giving- you choose how much you want to spend then create a book which you add gifts to from their gorgeous selection that you think your receiver would like,
Wishwant then send then the book with a code so they can select their favourite. Voila!
Their products are also available to purchase on their own as gifts or just something for yourself.
I came across Wishwant last year on Instagram and decided to take part in their surprise gift promotion;
There are different themes such as stationary or travel to choose from, all for just £1 plus a tiny postage fee;
Wishwant then select a corresponding surprise treat from their lovely range and pop it in the post to introduce you to new products and companies and brighten up your day!
I chose the gift for a Jewellery lover and a Beauty lover and received a tube of 1001 Remedies Magic skin and a very elegant little silver bracelet.
I have never heard of 1001 Remedies before so it was great to try a new brand especially one which makes such beautiful products.
1001 Remedies make natural skin care based on their ethos of creating products that contain only 100% natural and organic ingredients which respect nature as well as those who create and of course use their products.
With so many concerning news constantly emerging about the effect of chemicals on our health it is wonderful to find such companies who are making great products that we don't need to worry about using!
I found this gel to be indeed pretty magical;
It smells beautiful, leaves your skin feeling soft and doesn't irritate.
It is specially formulated for bruising, acne scarring or any other skin complaint; As someone with scarring from teenage skin problems I'll be interested to see how this improves it.
As a pregnant mama I have put this little tube away until I'm post baby as I know certain essential oils aren't suitable for me to use right now so I'm looking forward to treating my skin to this again soon!
The other treat which popped through the door was this sweet silver bracelet;
Unfortunately Wishwant don't seem to do this design any more but I believe it was from their own range. It really is great quality; I have had it on pretty much since I got it and despite going through all the daily mum routines of cleaning, tidying, bath-times and being pulled at by little people it still looks perfect. Its so comfortable to wear and just adds a little bit of sparkle to my day!
If you get a chance pop over to Wishwant for some gift giving inspiration and be sure to follow them on Instagram and Twitter so you don't miss their next promotion-

I'm really hoping they do this one again soon!

A Little Pregnancy Update- 30 weeks

I haven't documented this second pregnancy at all really-
Although it may seem a bit lazy to be honest I knew I wouldn't be able to commit to weekly or monthly updates on time also it would have been a  little repetitive as apart from a gradually increasing bump I haven't had many differing symptoms from month to month.
(Not that would be of huge interest to you all anyway!)
So far it has been quite different second time around...
With my first little guy I had quite bad hyperemesis from the start but with this one nausea kicked in about week seven and started to get better around week fifteen although I do still tend to feel queasy often these days.
I think having another small person who needs you makes you forget your symptoms  during the day which has really been a blessing when I was worried it would make it worse.
I found it much easier that this has been an Autumn/Winter pregnancy as having a big bump in the warm weather is not much fun and with it being so cold recently it's been a good excuse to stay close to home and have a few lazy days in. Luckily for me the little guy loves being at home building Lego, doing craft activities and watching his favourite films. We tend to be in bed early watching something cosy with a pile of pillows for me to get comfy on!
One of the major differences this time around has been the appearance of really bad sciatica and pelvic pain which tends to make everything from walking to sleeping extremely painful when it flares up every few days or if I've over done it (usually cleaning!).
Thankfully the hospital physiotherapist is helping with exercises and I have some very attractive bandages and a belt to help improve the weight distribution and I can take paracetamol for the pain.
After having a very big boy last time (he was 10 pounds 6 and a half ounces!) we're expecting this guy to be on the bigger side too which is probably a cause for the pain as well.
I'm under consultant care again though and she's being very good at keeping eye on us and doing all the important checks.
I had my Glucose tolerance check a couple of weeks ago which came back fine and everything else is fine too thankfully.
This guy is constantly moving-
It seems he's desperate to join in the fun whenever we're out.
So, what's next?
I'm due to see the consultant again next week to be measured and checked over but other than that I'm just taking it easy, getting as much as I can ready before April and although to us he's already part of our family, spending our last few weeks with my other two boys as a three.
It makes me a bit emotional to think this this part of our journey with one child is over but I can't wait for this new adventure to begin
and I know his Daddy and big brother can't either.
