A Stockeld Park Adventure

Ever since it opened several years ago we have had a family tradition of visiting the Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park near Wetherby. We started out taking my youngest brother for his third birthday which is in October, he's now 11 so it's a long standing tradition!

We loved Stockeld from our first visit but since then it honestly has got better each year we have returned; it's in such a beautiful place and is set out so imaginatively. Year on year more is added to the gardens and activity areas, making it well worth the entry. There's always extra activities to do and often different characters walking round depending on the time of year; the kids love it and we do too!
The Christmas Adventure is such a magical experience; the enchanted forest trail is lit up by twinkling lights with fairy tale creatures all along the way.
As a seasonal experience it really is a must for us; we love getting together as a family every year to walk the magical garden trail and have hot chocolates before looking around the Christmas shop; We always go early as we tend to go round the garden more than once!
It's a place that holds so many memories for us as a family now; I have photo's from every visit we have made and I love looking back on our trips together, some well before we had our boys and some when we were a very new little family. I love anything that captures children's sense of adventure and imagination and this place certainly does. It's just as enjoyable for me as an adult, and my grown up brothers and sisters love it too!
When we started going it was just the Christmas Experience and was only open from October to January with a shop, garden and ice rink; It is now open over Easter as well as during the school holidays in the Spring and Summer and has so much more to do.
They have since added a maze, various adventure zones, including a sand pit with a pirate ship, a tee pee encampment, and an inflatables area; a roller skate rink (for the spring and summer), go-karting, a teapot slide, boats and electric scooters. The whole park has been utilised so well, almost filling every space with things to see and do.
We tend to make several trips a year now to experience the park in each season!
Last summer I was lucky enough to win a family ticket for the Summer adventure which we were thrilled about! It was a lovely treat to be able to go again and check out all the newest additions to the park.
The little guy asked his cousin along too; they went off very happily together to explore!

We had such a lovely day at Stockeld park; the kids absolutely loved it. There was so much for them to see and play with, by the end of the day we were all ready for bed!
These are only a few photo's of our day mainly because there are so many but also because I'd hate to spoil it for you!

The Spring Adventure has just opened for half term and finishes on the 4th June and I highly recommend a trip! My advice before going is to arrive early to make the most out of your day and if you take a pushchair, one suitable for rougher terrain is bast as the path is a bit bumpy-
There is a great on site cafe that serves hot and cold food and drinks as well as an ice-cream parlour.

Thank you to Stockeld Park for our Summer adventure tickets and for creating such a magical place that our family loves.
We can't wait for another visit!

"If you go down to the woods today you're sure of a magical surprise..
Dancing fairies, ogres and dragons
You won't believe your eyes!
There's secrets to find and adventures to seek,
Toadstool houses and trees that can speak!
Treats and treasures at a special store
Food for hungry tummies and still even more!
There's so much to do at Stockeld park
With lights that twinkle and shine after dark,
So head to the woods through the little brown gates
An enchanting day out for the whole family awaits!"

NB post not in collaboration with Stockeld park we just love it.
