Stepping out & Accessorising for Summer {Ft. Rosie Phillips}

One of the best things about blogging, for me, is the people I have met through my little space on the internet.
Mine is by no means in the big leagues of the blogging world but it's brought so many wonderful opportunities that I never thought would come our way.
Working from home is something I have always wanted to do, I loved the idea of being my own boss and doing something I enjoyed.
Blogging started out as a creative outlet for me when TJ was just a few months old. Back then I mostly wrote about being a mum and used my blog as way of documenting his milestones and our days together as a family. I think because I felt overwhelmed so often with being a first time mum, being able to sit down at night and write out my thoughts helped me to find my feet and understand my new role. After blogging for a while I started to get the hang of parenting and got more into crafting; I realised that although being a mum was my most important journey, I wanted to write about more than just parenting. I started to really enjoy taking photos and my lovely sister bought me my very first DSLR. It really set me off seeing the difference shooting with a proper camera and once I'd got to grips with editing I was away. Since then Hello Little Lovely (Named after my little lovely!) has become my space to share everything from recipes and out days out to parenting thoughts and product reviews. There isn't a solid theme and sometimes it gets a little neglected but I love this space of ours.
Something that is really humbling though, is when people like what we do enough to work with us; whether its doing reviews or writing about places or companies, it means so much that people trust us to write honestly for them. My favourite part though is doing product photography and I'm always so happy when people say they like my pictures, especially as I'm not a professional.The last year has been our busiest ever and although I've found it really difficult, I've tried to push myself out of my comfort zone more than I ever have. It's easy to get used to hiding behind a screen and blogging in your PJ's so when I started having to go to meetings and events it all became a bit real!I'm so glad I did though as it's given me so much more confidence in myself.

In December I was so excited to be invited to my first event as a member of the press at the Country Living Fair at the Harrogate International Centre. It was a little dream come true for me as I am an avid collector and reader of Country Living. I had a lovely time wandering the huge halls of the conference centre that were filled with so many beautiful things.
The best part was meeting the faces behind some of the features I'd seen in previous magazines; I find it so interesting to hear how people start their own business and what made them set out on their own. I find that people who work for themselves are often so passionate about what they do and their products.

One of the first people I met at the fair were Rosie and Tina; a mum and daughter team who run online company, Rosie Phillips Textiles, selling a beautiful range of home-wares and gifts.
We got chatting and they are just the loveliest ladies who seem to really enjoy what they do and have a lot of fun together. They hand pick everything they sell through their website and on the stalls they do at various shows which means it's great quality; from scarves and handbags to silk flowers and bunting. Their business has such a personal touch as they put so much heart into what they do. The Country Living Fair was a big event and they were so busy but still managed to take the time to be so friendly and chat to everyone.
We kept in contact after the fair and then met up again at the Harrogate Flower Show where they were showcasing their beautiful new spring/summer lines. They have a gorgeous selection of unique gifts and accessories and different pieces that will really stand out in your home. I love their new Thomas Kent clocks and their Firefly Jars are perfect for adding a little glow to a summery evening outside.
They have just got in some new purses which are just lovely. They very kindly let me choose one and I had to go with my favourite colour! I can't remember the last time I got a new purse so this one is a real treat; it is soft, has plenty of room (for a mama who keeps too much in her purse) and has this very pretty light shimmer- just enough glam for me. Its nice and slim to pop into a bag or will look fab as an accessory on its own.

I'm so glad I got to meet Rosie and Tina; I'm looking forward to seeing more from their lovely shop and where they go next. You can see more from Rosie and Tina via their website and Instagram.

Its not easy to be your own boss these days, so support independent where you can and shop small!

NB Post in Collaboration with Rosie Phillips Textiles however all opinions are entirely my own.
